OSHA rule 1926.51 requires 1 toilet for a construction crew of 20 or fewer workers. One standard unit at $165 per 28 days covers most remodels and single-home builds. Crews over 10 people, or heavy use, can add a second weekly service visit.

Toilets used only by construction workers do not need to be wheelchair-accessible under ADA rule 203.2. Contractors with an approved account may pay on a Net 15 invoice instead.

What happens on each weekly service visit?

Every monthly rental includes 1 service visit per week. The driver pumps out the 60-gallon tank and washes down the inside. The seat and walls get sanitized, and toilet paper is restocked. Units with sinks also get fresh water, soap, and paper towels. An extra unscheduled visit costs $65.

A standard unit is about 44 to 47 inches wide. That will not fit through a typical 36-inch side gate. Our truck has to park within roughly 30 feet, on firm ground. From November to March, antifreeze goes in the tank at no extra charge. The unit keeps working on a 25°F Boise night.
